Halloween and Bonfire Night events

There are some great events taking place in the next few weeks- we are really excited for Hallowe’en and  Bonfire Night so keep reading to find out what's on in and around Dornoch!

Halloween Fancy Dress Ball

Edderton Kids Club are hosting a Fancy Dress Halloween Dance with music from the 80's

Spooky Halloween Walk at Timespan
Friday, October 26, 2018 at 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Join us for a ghoulish walk in the nooks and crannies of the village and try to spot which characters of the past have woken up for Halloween and are lurking around the corner and behind the curtains.....

Halloween Film Club at Timespan
The Addams Family
Halloween Special - toffee apples and popcorn included!
Classic black comedy scarefest from our favourite ghoulish family.
Tickets (includes popcorn, toffee apple and drink):

Spooky Halloween Walks at  Brora Heritage
Meet at the Brora Heritage Centre at 7pm on Tuesday 30th October for a spooky walk around the village. Free Admission

Spooky fortunes at Ledmore and Migdale
Saturday 27 October, 5.30-7pm or 7-8.30pm
Ledmore & Migdale Wood, Spinningdale, near Bonar Bridge
Join us to make your own fortune tellers with Mystic Meg, then go into the spooky woods to hear tales of good and bad fortunes found hiding in the woods. Afterwards, we will head back to the bothy to enjoy hot drinks and sweet surprises! There is something for everyone on this family event. £8 per person.

Lairg Bonfire Night
Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 6 PM. Bonfire, Fireworks, BBQ & Herchers Funfair

Dornoch Bonfire Night
Remember, remember the 5th of November and remember that Dornoch will be hosting its annual Bonfire Night at the Meadows Park! There will be fireworks, sideshows and refreshments from 6:30pm until 8pm.

What’s on in Dornoch: November 2018

November is packed full of fantastic events taking place in and around Dornoch.

There is so much happening in the area in the lead up to Christmas and this month sees the first Christmas events taking place including a festive evening at the Falls of Shin Visitor Centre on the 9th and Lairg’s ‘Winterfest’ on the 17thThere are many other events including a printmaking workshop, live music, Dornoch's bonfire night, film night, historical talks, car boot sale, community market and guided walks.

Our ‘Pick of the Month’ are the Links House 2018 Culinary Curiosities Nights. They take place on Thursdays 1st, 15th and 29th November. The demonstrations start at 7pm in the Glenshiel lounge with drinks and canapés and a taster menu is served at 8pm in the main house restaurant. Get started early with your Christmas shopping this year and shop local to avoid the crowds

We know it is early to start thinking about Christmas but why not get ahead of the crowds and start shopping early this year? The Shop around the Corner

You will find this gem of a shop in Shore Road – near the Bus Stop. It has a tiny entrance – so don’t miss it! Dornoch Garden Centre

Dornoch Garden Centre and Tool Hire is located in the Retail Park. An ideal place to shop for the gardening enthusiast there is a great range of outdoor clothing and fishing tackle, DIY tools, plants, seeds, bird feeders and gardening equipment. They also have clothing from brands such as Crocs, Hoggs of Fife, Joules, Deerhunter, Muckboots and Jack Murphy.

Kingcraig Fabrics

For everything tweed and tartan,  Kingcraig fabrics is the place to go.
